3D face
When I started this piece I took inspiration from some of the photos from the slide show and some ideas from pintrest. From there I designed a plan and set to work. I started with a ball I turned into a head shape and then carved and added until I had the face look I wanted. After that, I got it fired and finished it off with a simple clear glaze.
What I would say went well with this piece was that the overall composition turned out quite well. I like how the tongue sticks out and the face has a slight smile on it. The eyebrows could have had more work done but they could have been worse. I would probably make the eyes a bit better if I were to do this again because they are kind of rough and have slightly sharp aspects. The tongue too could be better, I would like to have made it thicker or secured it better because although I was able to fix it, the toung broke off at one point. I did the clear glaze on it though and I think it was the right call because the white seems to work quite well for it.

Pendant
For this piece, I liked the bead idea shown to us and so I decided to do something kind of similar. I made the plan and then used the slab roller to make a tiny slab. I cut out a triangle and made the designs, then poked the bead hole. I then painted it with underglaze blues and purples and got it fired. After that, I just put on a clear glaze.
What I like about this piece is the size, it is the perfect side for a pendant and actually turned out with next to no sharp edges. The piece also turned out to be really light weight which is nice. The designs are cute too although I wish they didn't end up kind of filled in with the glaze. If I were to do this again I would likely try to make the glaze a little less grainy in look, maybe by adding more layers. I could also try to do it with normal glaze.

This piece is being worked on when I have nothing else to do and is not an assignment.
Pinch pots
For this I just combined all of my pinch pot projects for this bit into one responce. The pinch pots didn't really need much planning because it was a specific project.
pinch pot 1: cut in half
Pinch pot 2: something to keep (pot for plant)
Pinch pots 3&4 stacked
Animal Sculpture and Historically inspired work
This Piece I thought I would take a difforent rout than most for my historically inspired piece and combined it with my animal sculpture to gett them both done. Prior to making this I attempted to make a little octopus but I got frustrated and ended up turing the body of the octopus into an adorable little ghost and trying to make a new animal. For this piece I wanted to do something that was a little difforent and reserched native american art and found these animal pendants that I found very interesting. Following that I drew up a plan for the piece and got to work. I decided to make the piece small because it is meant to be a pendant and because I wanted it to be a bit more historically accurate. I started by making an oval of clay and lightly drawing the lines of the wolf that I was carveing. later I marked which pieces I was going to completly remove and removed them. After that I gently stated to carve into the piece on the parts that were maked to be carved in. After a little while I realized that I did not have the right amount of clay to make a good muzzle and so I scored and sliped a small piece of clay onto the face of the wolf. When all the carveing was done I then got it fired and fired it a second time after I painted it gray and gave it yellow eyes. (There is no logical reasoning behind the yellow eyes, I just thought it would look cool and stand out well from the gray)
